How to Create a Global Email Filter

This guide is to create a global email filter for all email addresses within the account. If you wish to create an email filter for a single email account, please see this guide here.

Follow these steps to create a global email filter in cPanel:

 

1. Log in to your cPanel account.

2. Under the Email section, click Global Email Filters.

3. Click the Create a New Filter button.

4. Enter a name for the filter in the Filter Name text box.

5. In the Rules section, you must set the parameters and conditions for filtering the emails. Select the dropdown menus to set the conditions and enter the value in the field. To add more than one rule for the filter, click the + icon. To remove a rule, click the - icon.

6. Under the Actions section, choose what you wish to do with the email. Select the dropdown menu to choose the option. To add more than one action, click the + icon. To remove a rule, click the - icon.

7. Now, click the Create button.

Follow these steps to create a global email filter in DirectAdmin:

 

1. Log in to your DirectAdmin account.

2. Under E-mail Manager, click SPAM Filters.

3. In the Block By dropdown box, select the criteria of what you would like filtered/blocked.

4. Enter the value of what you wish to block/filter. Once entered, click the Block button.

5. You will also have other options available.
The adult filter blocks out common phrases, words, or addresses.
You can also choose whether you want filtered emails to be dropped entirely or have the emails delivered to your spam/junk folder.
