How to Create a Reseller Package

As a reseller, you can create custom packages for your clients with specific resources assigned to each package.

For example, you can offer basic, essentials or premium packages — basic plans include the least amount of resources such as disk storage, number of email addresses and so on, whilst the premium packages include more resources.

Follow these steps to create a reseller package in cPanel WHM:

 

1. Log in to your WHM account.

2. Once logged in, click the Packages dropdown on the left-hand side, then select Add Package.

3. You can begin creating your package by completing the following details.

 

Creating Packages

Package name: The name you wish to name the package you are creating. i.e. Basic plan

 

Resources

Disk Quota: The amount of storage you want associated with the package. i.e. 10240 MB (10GB)
Monthly Bandwidth Limit: Bandwidth measures the amount of data the account can transfer.
Max FTP Accounts: Number of FTP accounts that the user can create on this package.
Max Email Accounts: The number of email accounts that the user can create on the account.
Max Mailing Lists: The number of mailing lists the account can create.
Max SQL Databases: The number of databases an account can create.
Max Sub Domains: The number of subdomains an account can create.
Max Parked Domains: The number of park domains an account can have.
Max Addon Domains: The number of domains the user can add to an account.
Max Passenger Applications: The number of passenger applications an account can have.
Maximum Hourly Email by Domain Relayed: The number of emails a domain can send.
Maximum percentage of failed or deferred messages a domain may send per hour: This option specifies the maximum percentage of failed/deferred emails a domain may send per hour before protections are triggered.
Max Quota per email address: An email’s maximum storage size within the account.

 

Settings

Dedicated IP: If you have a dedicated IP associated with your reseller, you can set the package to use the dedicated IP when assigned to an account. 
Shell Access: The SSH network protocol allows you to connect to another web server over the internet via a command line interface (CLI). You can use this network protocol to manage your server remotely, configure CGIscripts, and perform other tasks. (This option is not enabled; if you require shell access for a specific account, please raise a support ticket to our team.)
CGI Access: The common gateway interface (CGI) is a standard way for a Web server to pass a Web user’s request to an application program and to receive data back to forward to the user. (It is recommended to leave this option enabled.)
Digest Authentication at account creation: Enables Digest Authentication support for Web Disk access over a clear text or unencrypted connection. Users with Microsoft® Windows Vista®, Windows® 7, and Windows® 8 operating systems (not required)
cPanel Theme: You can choose which theme the cPanel accounts are on upon creation or when an existing account has this package applied to it.
Feature List: The feature list establishes the cPanel account's functions.
Locale: Select the language that will operate within the account.

 

4. After configuring your options, click the Save Changes button.

Follow these steps to create a reseller package in DirectAdmin:

 

As a reseller, you can create custom packages via your DirectAdmin reseller account for your clients with specific resources assigned to each package.

For example, you can offer basic, essentials or premium packages — basic plans include the least amount of resources such as disk storage, number of email addresses and so on, whilst the premium packages include more resources.

 
Follow these steps to create a package within your DirectAdmin reseller:

 

1. Log in to your DirectAdmin Reseller account.

2. Once logged in, click the Account Manager dropdown on the left-hand side, then select Manage User Packages.

3. On the top right-hand side, click the Add Package button.

4. In this section, fill out the package details (the resources and settings you want applied for this package).

 

Create New Package

Bandwidth: Bandwidth measures the amount of data that the account can transfer.

Disk Space: The amount of storage you want to be associated with the package, i.e. 10240 MB (10GB).

Inode: This is the limit for the number of files the account can have in total within their account.

Domains: The number of domains the user can add to the account.

Sub-Domains: The number of subdomains that can be created/added to the account.

Email Accounts: The number of email accounts the user can create.
Email Forwarders: The number of forwarders the user can have on the account.
Mailing Lists: The number of mailing lists the user can have on the account.
Autoresponders: The number of responders the user can have on the account.

MySQL Databases: The number of databases the user can create on the account.
Domain Pointers: The number of domain pointers the user can have on an account. (A domain pointer is an additional domain name that points to the root of your site.)
FTP Accounts: The number of FTP accounts the account can have.

CGI Access: The common gateway interface (CGI) is a standard way for a Web server to pass a Web user’s request to an application program and to receive data back to forward to the user. (It is recommended to leave this option enabled.)

PHP Access: This setting allows the user to access the PHP settings within their account.

SpamAssassin: This setting allows the user to access the Spam filter within their account.

Catch-All Email: This setting enables the Catch-All Email function within their account.

SSL Access: This setting allows the user to access the SSL settings within their account.

SSH Access: This setting allows the user to have SSH access.

Cron Jobs: This setting allows the user to access Cron Jobs for their account.

System Info: This setting allows users to view the System Info within their account.

Login Keys: This setting allows the user to create Login Keys (also known as an API token — a password that allows users to log in to their control panel).

DNS Control: This setting allows users to access their DNS settings/Zone records within the account.

Suspend Limit: This setting suspends an account once it has exceeded the disk quota or bandwidth. (Please note: This is a global setting, and the functionality is disabled.)

Skin: The theme of the control you want the package to have.
Language: English.
Home Directory: Set the preferred directory you want the accounts on. (This should always be set to /home.)
Acronis Backup: The setting to enable Acronis Backup within the account. (Self-service backup feature.)
Dream Website Builder: This setting enables the website builder app within the account.

 

Feature Sets & Plugins Allow/Deny

Policy: This setting is to enable/disable DirectAdmin's essential functions. (It is recommended to allow all.)

Policy: This setting is to enable/disable plugins provided by DreamIT. (It is recommended to allow all.)

Package Name: The name you want for the package.

 

5. After configuring your options, click the Save button.
