Follow these steps to download a full backup of your account in cPanel:
1. Log in to your cPanel account.
For instructions on how to log in to your cPanel account, please click here.
2. Under the Files section, click Backup Wizard.
3. For Step 1: Back Up or Restore, click the Back Up button.
4. For Step 2: Full or Partial Backup, under Select Full Backup, click the Full Backup button.
5. You can then choose the Backup Destination and the option to send an email notification on completion. Once completed, click the Generate Backup button.
6. It will advise that the backup is in progress. Click the Go Back button, which will take you back to the Back Up or Restore page.
7. The backup will be under the Backups Available for Download section.
Note: If the backup is still downloading, it will display [inprogress] next to it.
8. Once the download is ready, it will show a tick on the name, and the [inprogress] note will no longer be displayed.
9. To download the file, click the link, then choose where to save the file.
Note: You can also access the backup file within your File Manager under the Home Directory if you have chosen the Home Directory as your backup destination.
Follow these steps to download a full backup of your account in DirectAdmin:
- Log into your DirectAdmin account.
- Head to the Advanced Features section and click on Create/Restore Backups
- Select the parameters of the inclusions you wish to have for the backup and click Create Backup
- Once the backup has been created, you will receive a notification in your control panel dashboard
- To download the backup, head to System Info & Files and click on File Manager
- Locate the Backups folder
- You'll be able to see the list of backups. You can right-click and then click the download option to download the backup locally.
