What is Web Hosting?

Web hosting is a service that provides the necessary server space, technology, and support required to store your website's files and make your site accessible to users on the internet. No matter what type of website you have, whether it's powered by WordPress, Magento or another website builder - We'll provide the technology and hardware to keep your website online. Our servers and network deliver incredible loading speeds and reliability.

Account Set up and Registration

Your hosting account should now have been setup and the welcome email contains all the information you will need in order to begin using your account.

Login to your MyDreamIT Account

MyDreamIT is a centralised internal portal that streamlines access to DreamIT resources, tools, and collaboration platforms for efficient service management and customer support.

  1. Navigate to MyDreamIT Portal.
  2. Your login details are the email and password you used to sign up for our services. If you don't remember your login details, please follow this guide to recover your password.

Note: If you have requested a domain name during sign up, please keep in mind that your domain name will not be visible on the internet instantly. This process is called propagation and can take up to 48 hours.

Login to your Control Panel

A web hosting control panel is a web-based interface that enables users to manage, configure, and monitor their hosting services and website resources in a user-friendly manner.

  1. Navigate to MyDreamIT Portal
  2. Once you are logged in, scroll down to Auto Login Panels, then click “Login to cPanel”.
  3. Alternatively, you can login via your Domain URL.
  4. Open your web browser and type in your domain followed by /cPanel or :2083 in the address bar. For example: If your domain is example.com, you would enter example.com/cpanel or example.com:2083
  5. Once you open up the login page, you can enter your cPanel login details.
DirectAdmin Login via DirectAdmin
  1. Navigate to MyDreamIT Portal
  2. Once you are logged in, scroll down to Auto Login Panels, then click “Login to DirectAdmin”.
  3. Alternatively, you can login via your Domain URL.
  4. Open your web browser and type in your domain followed by :2222 in the address bar. For example: If your domain is example.com, you would enter example.com:2222
  5. Once you open up the login page, you can enter your cPanel login details.

Note: Your control panel login details are in your Product Welcome Email. Your Product Welcome Email would have been sent to you when you first ordered a service from us. If you require assistance finding your login details, you can raise a support ticket via your My DreamIT Portal and our team can assist you further.

Website Platform

WordPress is an open-source content management system (CMS) that is widely used to create websites and blogs. It allows users to create, customise and manage websites without extensive coding knowledge. These tools often include drag-and-drop features, plugin extensions, and theme customisation to streamline the website creation process.

Installing WordPress

To install WordPress, you can easily do so with Softaculous in your control panel.

  1. Log into your control panel (DirectAdmin / cPanel).
  2. Navigate to the Softaculous Apps Installer section, and click 'WordPress'.
  3. It will present you with the Softaculous page for WordPress. Click 'Install Now' button.

Accessing WordPress through your Control Panel

You can log into your website directly through WordPress Manager via cPanel or DirectAdmin, which bypasses the WordPress Credentials.

  1. Log into your cPanel Account.
  2. Under the Software section, click 'WordPress Manager by Softaculous'
  3. You can see your list WordPress installations under the Installations section. Click the 'Login' button for the site you wish to log into

  1. Log into your DirectAdmin account
  2. Under Softaculous Apps Installer, click 'WordPress'
  3. In the top right-hand corner, click the WordPress icon to open WordPress Manager
  4. You can see your list WordPress installations under the Installations section. Click the 'Login' button for the site you wish to log into.

Accessing WordPress Backend
  1. Open your preferred web browser to log into the backend of your WordPress website
  2. In the URL section of the browser, type in your domain followed by /wp-admin, then press the enter button
  3. Enter your username / email and password to log into your WordPress Backend

Note: If /wp-admin does not work, you can also try using /wp-login.php. (If neither works, you may have a custom login page or may not be using WordPress.)

Note: You created these credentials when you first created your WordPress account.

Accessing the DreamIT Builder

Our DreamIT Website Builder is included in all web hosting plans and allows you to build and customise your website through a drag and drop interface. There are over 200 templates and multiple plugins to work with - and you can easily import your existing website or design from scratch.

  1. Log into your control panel (DirectAdmin / cPanel).
  2. Navigate to 'Software' and click on 'Dream Website Builder'.
  3. Select the domain/sub-domain on the account you want to build the site on.

Note: If you already have an existing site built on your domain, please be advised that publishing the website will override your current live website. We recommend that you build the site onto a staging domain first.

Email Hosting

Email hosting is a service that provides a dedicated server infrastructure to send, receive, and store professional emails using a customised domain name. Included as part of your web hosting plan - you'll have access to email hosting that allows you to create email accounts for your domain.

Create Email Accounts

Our web hosting plans allow unlimited email accounts to be created.

  1. Navigate to MyDreamIT Portal.
  2. Once you are logged in, scroll down to Auto Login Panels, then click "Login to cPanel".
  3. Under the 'Email' section, click 'Email Accounts'.
  4. Click the '+Create' Button.
  5. Enter the settings for your new email account:
    • Domain: You can select your domain from the dropdown box regarding the email address you want to create.
    • Username: The username of your email address (i.e. info/admin/support@domain.com).
    • Password: The password you will use to log in to your email address.
  6. Once you have completed the form, click the 'Create Account' button to create your new email account.

Optional Settings:

You can access optional settings by clicking the 'Edit Settings' button.

Storage Space:

You can manually set the storage space for your email address or select 'Unlimited' if you wish to have unlimited storage space for that account. (Please note: Unlimited storage is limited to your hosting plan's storage total).

  1. Navigate to MyDreamIT Portal.
  2. Once you are logged in, scroll down to Auto Login Panels, then click "Login to DirectAdmin".
  3. Under the 'Email Manager' section, click 'Email Accounts'.
  4. Click the '+Create' Button.
  5. Enter the settings for your new email account:
    • Username: The name of the email address. (Please note: The domain name is already pre-filled.)
    • Password: It must be at least 9 characters long and contain a lowercase letter, uppercase letter and number
    • E-mail Quota (MB): The email storage for the account. By default, it is set to 50
    • Send Limit: The number of emails this account can send per hour. (Please note: This does not override the "Emails per Hour" specified in your plan.)
  6. Once you have completed the form, click the 'Create Account' button to create your new email account.

Accessing Emails

You can access your email using many methods - whether it's through your webmail portal, control panel or preferred email client on your phone/computer. Our email client recommendation is Spark!

Login via Webmail
  1. You can log into your webmail via our DreamIT Host website and click the 'WEBMAIL' button in the top right-hand corner
  2. Alternatively, you can log into your webmail directly through https://mail.hosting-cloud.net/ with your email credentials
  3. If you are unable to log in, please reset your email password. You can find a guide on how to reset your email password here.
Access Emails Directly from Control Panel

  1. Login to cPanel.
  2. You will see a list of your available email addresses. Click the 'Check Email' button for the email you wish to access.
  3. A webmail settings will open - select the webmail client you wish to use, then click the 'Open' button.

Note: If you tick the "Open my inbox when I log in" option, the next time you click the Check Email button from the previous step, you will skip this page and go straight to the inbox of your preferred webmail client.

  1. Login to DirectAdmin.
  2. Under the E-mail Manager, click 'Email Accounts'.
  3. You will see a list of your available email addresses. Click the Square with the arrow symbol button for the email you wish to access. This will log you into Roundcube webmail.

Note: A faster method to access the webmail page is by typing your domain in the web browser address bar, followed by /webmail. For example, if your domain is example.com, you would type in "example.com/webmail". This method works in the majority of setups. However, there are certain conditions where this may not work, such as if you host your website and email address on separate servers.

Set up your Emails on Phone/Computer Devices

Our services operate on IMAP and POP3 so that you can configure them for your preferred email client, such as Outlook, Thunderbird, Gmail, etc.
