Before proceeding, please ensure you have your email server settings ready.
You can find your exact settings using our Email Server Settings Lookup Tool. If you use cPanel, you can also retrieve them from Email Accounts by selecting Connect Devices next to the email address you are configuring.
Note: This guide is for email accounts hosted with DreamIT Host. If your email is hosted with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace or another provider, please use that provider's setup details instead.
Follow these steps to set up your email account in Samsung Mail:
1. Open the Samsung Email app on your Samsung phone or tablet.
If this is your first account, select Add account. Otherwise, open the menu, select the settings icon, then choose Add account.
2. Enter your full email address, such as name@yourdomain.com, then select Manual setup.
Do not select Google, Microsoft Exchange, Outlook, Yahoo or another listed provider unless your email is hosted with that provider.
3. Select IMAP account.
IMAP is recommended because it keeps your email, folders and read status in sync across your phone, computer and webmail.
4. Enter your incoming server settings.
- Email address: Your full email address
- Username: Your full email address
- Password: Your email account password
- IMAP server:
mail.yourdomain.com - Security type: SSL/TLS
- Port: 993
Replace yourdomain.com with your own domain name.
Note: The mail.yourdomain.com server name will only work if the mail record exists for your domain.
Use our Email Server Settings Lookup Tool if you are unsure which server name to enter.
5. Enter your outgoing server settings.
- SMTP server:
mail.yourdomain.com - Security type: SSL/TLS
- Port: 465
- Require authentication: Enabled
- Username: Your full email address
- Password: Your email account password
The SMTP username and password should be the same as your incoming email settings.
6. Select Sign in or Done to complete the setup.
Samsung Mail will verify the settings and begin syncing your email. This may take a few moments, depending on the size of the mailbox and your internet connection.
7. Send a test email from the account and check that you can receive it.
If the test email sends and arrives successfully, your Samsung Mail setup is complete.
Having trouble setting up your account?
Try the following checks before contacting support:
- Make sure the username is your full email address, not only the part before the
@symbol. - Confirm that SMTP authentication is enabled and uses the same email address and password as the incoming settings.
- Confirm that the password works in webmail. If it does not, reset the email password before trying again.
- Check that you selected Manual setup and IMAP account, rather than an automatic provider option.
- Use the Email Server Settings Lookup Tool to confirm the correct incoming and outgoing server names.
- If you receive a certificate warning, check that the server name exactly matches the setting returned by the lookup tool.
- If you have recently moved your website or email service to DreamIT Host, DNS changes may still be propagating. Your previous server name may be required temporarily.
