Configuring your website to send with SMTP will significantly increase the delivery of your emails.
Follow these steps to configure SMTP in your Joomla website.
- Log into your Joomla backend.
- Access the System settings
- Under the Setup section, click on Global Configuration.
- Scroll down to the Mail settings.
- Change the mailer option in the dropdown list to SMTP
- Proceed to fill in the remainder of the form
- From Email/Name - Email/Name that appears in the From field.
- Reply To Email/Name - Email/Name you want to set as the reply-to when recipients respond.
- SMTP Host - The hostname of your SMTP server. (Your email provider will provide this setting)
- SMTP Port - Typically, the port is set to 465 for SSL or 587 for TLS.
- SMTP Security - Select SSL if you use port 465 or 587 for TLS.
- Enable SMTP Authentication.
- Scroll back to the top of the page and click the Save button.
