Overview

CloudLinux Manager (also known as LVE Manager) is a resource management tool available on hosting servers running CloudLinux. It lets you monitor your account's resource usage, select PHP versions, and view historical performance statistics.

LVE Manager is available in both cPanel and DirectAdmin control panels. Not all DreamIT servers run CloudLinux — it is typically available on shared hosting servers. If you are on a VPS or dedicated server, CloudLinux may not be present.

Features

• PHP Selector - choose and switch between PHP versions for your websites.
• Resource Usage - view your current CPU, memory, I/O, entry processes (EP), and NPROC limits.
• LVE Statistics - see historical resource usage and identify any limit faults (e.g. the cause of 508 errors).

Accessing LVE Manager in cPanel

If your hosting account uses cPanel, you can access LVE Manager from within the control panel:

1. Log in to cPanel.
2. Scroll to the Software section.
3. Click LVE Manager or CloudLinux Manager.
4. From here you can view the Resource Usage, LVE Statistics, and PHP Selector tabs.

If LVE Manager is not visible in your cPanel Software section, your account may be on a server that does not run CloudLinux. Contact support and we can check for you.

Accessing LVE Manager in DirectAdmin

If your hosting account uses DirectAdmin, you can access LVE Manager from the control panel or directly via URL:

1. Log in to your DirectAdmin control panel.
2. Navigate to Extra Features or look for LVE Manager in the main menu.
3. Alternatively, access it directly at: https://your-server-hostname:2222/CMD_PLUGINS/lvemanager
4. From LVE Manager, you can view the Resource Usage and PHP Selector tabs.

If LVE Manager does not appear in your DirectAdmin panel, your server may not be running CloudLinux. Contact support and we can check for you.

Understanding Resource Limits

CloudLinux uses Lightweight Virtual Environments (LVEs) to isolate and limit each hosting account's resource usage. The key resources shown in LVE Manager are:

• CPU - the percentage of CPU your account can use.
• Memory (PMEM/VMEM) - physical and virtual memory limits.
• I/O - disk read/write throughput limits.
• Entry Processes (EP) - the maximum number of simultaneous PHP/CGI processes.
• NPROC - the total number of processes your account can run at once.

Common Issues

508 Resource Limit Reached Errors

If your site displays a 508 Resource Limit Reached error, it means your account has hit one of its LVE limits. You can check which resource was exceeded by reviewing the LVE Statistics section in LVE Manager — look for any columns showing faults.

Checking Current Usage

Use the Resource Usage tab to see your current consumption against your account limits. If usage is consistently near the limit, your site may be a good candidate for a plan upgrade or limit increase.

Requesting a Limit Increase

If your resource limits are regularly being reached and your site is performing normally (not experiencing unusual traffic spikes or runaway scripts), you can request a review of your limits:

• Open a support ticket and include your domain name and a description of the issue.
• Our team will review your usage history and advise on whether a limit increase or plan upgrade is appropriate.

What If I Do Not Have Access?

If LVE Manager is not available in your control panel, it may mean your account is on a server that uses a different configuration. In this case:

• Contact support - we can check your resource usage on your behalf and advise on any limits.
• Server migration - if CloudLinux features are important to you, ask about migrating to a CloudLinux-enabled server.
